Our doctors provide the pediatric ophthalmology coverage for the emergency department and neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s and regularly consult on patients who are admitted. This is a testament to the skill of our doctors and their ability to handle the most complex cases.
We are also the only pediatric ophthalmology practice in Oklahoma with a clinic at Children’s (in addition to our clinics at the main DMEI location and our location in Edmond). This allows us to better care for those patients who need to be connected to other services provided at the hospital. It also provides our doctors a close working relationship with pediatric specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, and rheumatology.
Familiarity with Rare Eye Conditions
The pediatric ophthalmologists at DMEI receive referrals from other practitioners in the state or region who can’t adequately treat rare pediatric eye conditions.
