Bio

Dr. Scott A. Vadala is a fellowship-trained cornea, external disease, and refractive surgeon with expertise in advanced cataract and anterior segment surgery. A native of north Texas, he earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, followed by specialty fellowship training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery here at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in 2022 – 2023.

After his training, Dr. Vadala practiced for a year in Phoenix, Arizona, where he specialized in cornea, cataract surgery, and complex ocular trauma as a member of the Arizona Ophthalmic Trauma Society. He has now returned to the Dean McGee Eye Institute, bringing his expertise in advanced corneal transplantation techniques, complex and premium cataract surgery, and secondary intraocular lens implantation.

Dr. Vadala is skilled in managing the full spectrum of anterior segment diseases and offers state-of-the-art refractive surgical options tailored to each patient’s needs. He is passionate about providing exceptional care and visual outcomes through innovative surgical techniques.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Vadala resides in Oklahoma City with his golden doodle, Finley. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, hiking, racket sports, cooking, and reading.
