Bio

Matthew S. Chorost, MD, from Moore/Norman, earned his undergraduate degree (microbiology) as well as his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, followed by an internship and ophthalmology residency at the National Capital Consortium/Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

He is a Major in the Army Reserves, and spent eight years as an active-duty officer providing refractive laser surgery, ICL surgery, and refractive lens exchange to soldiers. He was the chief of ophthalmology and refractive surgery services from 2023-2024 at the Carl R. Darnall medical center in Fort Cavazos (formerly known as Fort Hood).

Dr. Chorost has taught ocular trauma surgery to residents at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, and has precepted medical students from military programs as well as medical students from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Chorost and his wife have two young daughters.
