The DMEI Difference
Where Should I Go for My LASIK Surgery?
We know you have several choices when it comes to LASIK. But, not all eye surgery centers are the same. In fact, no center in Oklahoma comes close to the Stephenson Refractive Surgery Center at the Dean McGee Eye Institute.
You owe it to yourself to understand the differences that set us apart from the others and why those differences matter to you or your loved one.
The Difference in LASIK at the Dean McGee Eye Institute
Dean McGee Eye Institute National Ranking
Whether by U.S. News & World Report, Ophthalmology Times, or Doximity, the Dean McGee Eye Institute is consistently ranked as one of the best in the nation. No other practice in Oklahoma can make this claim.
Custom LASIK for All Patients
As the only center in the Oklahoma City area using iDESIGN technology, we provide each of our patients personalized, custom LASIK at a price equal to or below what other competitors charge for standard LASIK. Why pay more for less personalized LASIK?
Personal Interaction With Your Surgeon
At the Dean McGee Eye Institute, your surgeon evaluates you, performs the operation, and meets with you for follow-up appointments during the next 12 months following the surgery. At most other centers, one doctor evaluates you, another does the surgery, and another may see you for a follow-up visit. At the Dean McGee Eye Institute, you can trust your surgeon is there with you every step of the way.
No Shortcuts
Don’t be fooled! A dilated eye exam is the only way to thoroughly examine your eye. This is the standard of care in ophthalmology – we should know since we help set the standard! A non-dilated scan of your eye may sound great – and others will tell you it is just as complete – but that isn’t true. Even the best scanning technology has limitations. You can risk your vision if you commit to LASIK without having a dilated eye exam. We won’t let that happen because your eye health is our No. 1 concern.
LASIK Gone Wrong? We Can Help
We value thoroughness at the Dean McGee Eye Institute because we know firsthand what happens when other surgeons don’t — their patients come to us seeking help when LASIK has gone wrong. If we’re trusted to pick up the pieces after another surgeon’s mistake, how much more can we be trusted to do your LASIK procedure right the first time?
Your Best Choice for LASIK Surgery

*Before a patient age 50 or older can be screened for LASIK, the patient will be required to undergo a cataract evaluation for which there is a charge. The cataract evaluation is not part of the free LASIK screening.
