Dr. Bailey is wholeheartedly invested in the education of our next generation of ophthalmologists. Partnering with other ophthalmologists at DMEI, he is assuring the highest quality of care standards are being taught to our residents. He participates and provides clinical and surgical educational experience at the main DMEI campus and in partnership with the Veterans Administration. As a former United States Navy Veteran, Dr. Bailey is honored to continue to provide medical service to his fellow service members.

Bio
Born in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Bailey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed an internship in pediatrics at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, where he was recognized as the Intern of the Year by the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Bailey served in the United States Navy from 2004 to 2010 and as a General Medical Officer from 2005 to 2010, during which time he was twice deployed to Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom for a total of 16 months of service there. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute/University of Oklahoma, where he also completed a glaucoma fellowship.
Dr. Bailey is married to his high school sweetheart. They began dating when they were 15-16 years old. Both are natives of Colorado, but they consider Oklahoma home now. Dr. Bailey was married in 2000 and has three children in or closely approaching their teenage years.

Clinical Trials
Allergan 1698-301-007, Sub-Investigator
The study is a Phase 3b study evaluating the duration of effect of Bimatoprost SR in POAG patients. The Investigational Product is a biodegradable polymer that will be implanted three times over the course of 30 months and as the polymer disintegrates, the medication is released.
