Bio

Dr. Caywood grew up in Iowa, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota, and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree (Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society) at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed a one-year family practice residency in optometry at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Dr. Caywood has served as an optometrist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Oklahoma City since 2007 and is highly respected by and well known to many of our doctors. She previously worked at the VAMC in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and in private practices in the Tulsa area.

Dr. Caywood is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and serves on the Exam Development Council for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

She and her husband, Josh, who is a chemical engineer, have two daughters, Alyssa and Alexis. She enjoys audiobooks, travel, cooking, and is active in her local church.
