Bio
Dr. Melson was selected as the Residency Program Director effective October 1, 2022 for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Melson is a native of the Cincinnati, Ohio area, earned his undergraduate (summa cum laude) and medical (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Gold Humanism Honor Society) degrees from Saint Louis University, and completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then served as a resident in ophthalmology at DMEI/OU, was chief resident during the 2017-2018 academic year. He did his neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute.
Dr. Melson has received numerous honors and awards, including a Distinction in Research Award and Community Service Award from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and was the co-recipient of the Dr. and Mrs. T.E. Acers Resident Honor Award at DMEI in 2018.
Dr. Melson’s wife Danielle is a physical therapist with INTEGRIS Health and is an equally delightful individual.
